Looking back at the images from this drop dead incredible industrial modern wedding brings me so much joy. The attention to detail (I mean the site, the plants, the vintage car) made this event absolutely beautiful. But even more so, Aloura and Alex have the sweetest love story!
Alex and Aloura’s journey has been a bit nontraditional. The two met in 2016, Alex won Aloura over in his giraffe onesie costume on Halloween. However, Aloura was planning to move abroad, so she tried her best not to fall for Alex because it seemed like awful timing. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to spend more time with Alex, and this quickly grew into a relationship. They spent ten months together before Aloura moved to Shanghai. They were both so willing to give love distance a shot, always supportive of one another! To this day, they agree that this distance made them stronger and made it clear how much they wanted to be with each other forever.
For two years they were able to travel together and continue making memories. Then, when Aloura was accepted into a doctoral program at UW-Madison, the two found a house and planned to move together. They were both so excited and couldn’t wait to be in the same place! On the night Aloura came back to the states, Alex gathered both of their families, along with their dogs, (one of whom Aloura rescued in Shanghai) and proposed with Aloura’s Great Grandmother’s ring!!
Alex and Aloura say they could’ve easily decided to live without each other, but neither one of them wanted to – they chose one another. And they can’t wait to keep choosing one another for the rest of their lives!
When you take a glimpse into their wedding day, you can see how much love they have for one another! Being surrounded by family and their two precious pups for their intimate ceremony, and then celebrating with all of their friends made this day so special. I was so happy to be able to capture it!
